Hello! We are Jodi and Landon, and we would love to care for your pets. In 2023 we discovered a need in our community for reliable dog walking and pet sitting services for busy pet owners. We combined our experience taking care of animals, our love of the outdoors, and an active lifestyle, and Ocean Springs Pets LLC was born.
Jodi has over thirty years of experience caring for all types of animals, while Landon is an avid caretaker of dogs and cats with several decades of experience. We have worked with senior dogs, three-legged dogs, young and energetic dogs, many breeds of cats, hamsters, fish, and birds.
We place an emphasis on fitness which allows us to handle most types of situations. Jodi weight trains in the gym and is a former marathon runner having run eight full marathons as well as countless half marathons. Landon has completed a full Ironman as well as several half Ironman triathlons.
As avid athletes, we are able to handle large, powerful dogs and will walk or run with your dogs to ensure they get sufficient exercise. We are happy to provide this service to our Ocean Springs community and the surrounding areas, and we look forward to working with you and your pets!
We love animals and will treat your pets as family. We have two priorities when we care for pets.
The #1 priority is safety. We will always ensure a safe environment when outside with your dogs whether it be when cars are passing or other animals may be approaching. We practice these methods with our dog daily as well as with the numerous dogs that we take out for exercise. We ensure that the harness or collar is fitted properly, and we have our favorite leash on hand to use. We go over any areas of concern in regards to cat safety with the pet parent, and we do not remove smaller animals from their cages unless there is a secured, routine play area. As a standard policy, we do not leave pets outdoors unattended.
The #2 priority is fresh air and exercise. We will explore the neighborhood or a park nearby while running, walking, and sniffing. Unless it is time to eat, we place emphasis on being outside with your pet and encouraging movement for the full allotted time to ensure your pet gets plenty of fresh air and exercise.
Before booking, we require an initial meet and greet to get to know your pets. We will go over your pets' preferences, routines, feeding and medication schedule, and activity level.
If drop in sessions are needed for dogs with parents that are out of town, we require a minimum of three 30 minute care sessions to ensure your dog is checked on enough and gets the proper amount of fresh air and sunlight.
Please note that we are not veterinarians, and our services extend to care taking only in your home through 30-60 minute visits. If an emergency occurs, we will do whatever we can to assist the pet to ensure they get proper veterinary care.
If your pet has a preexisting condition, a known medical issue, a history of aggression, or you have any other area of concern, we recommend that you book boarding services through a qualified veterinarian.
We do everything we can to mitigate risk during a visit. However, if there is an emergency, we are here to help. Along with transporting your pet to obtain immediate veterinary care, we also utilize the American Red Cross Pet First Aid app as a guide for immediate care.
